We are proud to announce, that Professor Kasper Steen Pedersen from DTU Chemistry has been awarded a generous grant of DKK 3,165,676 from the Independent Research Fund Denmark for the project "Chameleonic f-Element Materials".
The research focuses on f-block elements – also known as rare earths – and their unique electronic structures, which can lead to dramatic changes in material properties when exposed to stimuli like temperature or light. The team aims to develop innovative "chameleonic" materials that can rapidly alter color, electrical resistance, and magnetism with high precision. This new class of materials holds promise for applications ranging from optoelectronics and sensors to advanced memory devices.
