Professor Mads H. Clausen from DTU Chemistry has received two generous grants of 391,185 DKK from the Carlsberg Foundation and 1,424,736 DKK from the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Mads has received a grant of 391,185 DKK from the Carlsberg Foundation for 'Equipment for synthetic carbohydrate chemistry.'

Mads and his team are studying the chemistry and biology of sugars and utilizing synthetic and naturally occurring carbohydrates in the development of vaccines for cancer and infectious diseases such as pneumonia, while also studying plant cell wall glycans as a potential source of sustainable biomass for food, feed, energy, and materials. The grant will support the equipment for this research.

Mads is also receiving 1,424,736 DKK of a 5 million DKK grant awarded to Professor Anders Henrik Lund from the University of Copenhagen by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Give Mads and the interdisciplinary research between DTU and UCPH a big hand.
