Katrine Qvortrup Appointed Professor at DTU Chemistry

DTU Chemistry has August 1st appointed Katrine Qvortrup as Professor. The appointment recognizes her outstanding research and dedication in bridging chemistry and biology.

Professor Qvortrup’s work lies at the intersection of chemistry and biology, with the aim of developing technologies of broad societal relevance. Her research includes the development of diagnostic probes that provide new insights into disease processes, as well as targeted therapies designed to increase efficiency and reduce side effects.

Since joining DTU Chemistry, Qvortrup has played an active role in both research and teaching, and has been an important mentor for students and early-career researchers. Her appointment highlights her continued dedication to strengthening chemical biology research and to translating new ideas into technologies with medical and societal impact.

Professor Qvortrup was appointed alongside three colleagues - Professor Luca Laraia, Professor Susanne Mossin, and Professor Wei Yan. The inaugural lectures of the newly appointed professors will be held during the coming autumn, winter, and spring.
