Independent Research Fund Denmark grants for green research

Seven DTU researchers each receive approximately DKK 7 million from the Independent Research Fund Denmark for their green research projects.

The Independent Research Fund Denmark is awarding a total of DKK 145 million to 21 research projects that will promote the green transition.

The seven grant recipients

  • Associate Professor Christian Danvad Damsgaard, DTU Nanolab, receives the grant for the project ’Catalytic conversion of CO2 to CNTs (CO2-CNT)’.
  • Associate Professor Daniela Anca Hansen, DTU Wind, receives the grant for the project ’Resilient Renewable Power Generation: Hybrid Power Plants with Distributed Control (TRANSITION)’.
  • Associate Professor Irene Rocchi, DTU Sustain, receives the grant for the project ’Assessing the release of SEAbed CARBon caused by towed fishing gear’.
  • Professor Jens Wenzel Andreasen, DTU Energy, receives the grant for the project ’A New H2ope – Discovering Natural Hydrogen Resources in Greenland’.
  • Associate Professor Martin Nielsen, DTU Kemi, receives the grant for the project ’Direct Upgrade of Carbohydrate-rich Biomass to MeTHF’.
  • Senior Researcher Mehdi Mehrali, DTU Construct, receives the grant for the project ’Thermoactive Cement-Free Living Materials for Sustainable Construction’.
  • Professor Qingfeng Li, DTU Energy, receives the grant for the project ’Breaking the Nitrogen Triple Bonds in Molten Salts Towards Efficient Synthesis of Green Ammonia (N-Break)’.
