DK-OPENSCREEN

DTU Chemistry is home to DK-OPENSCREEN — the national research infrastructure for chemical biology. The facility has an advanced compound library of 50,000 lead-like small molecules. In addition, DK-OPENSCREEN offers a wide array of screening facilities and highly specialized knowledge, e.g. on multi-resistant bacteria and phenotypic screening in cells. The facility furthermore offers medicinal chemistry services including hit-to-lead optimization, SAR (by catalogue and de novo synthesis) and PD/PK optimization.

The facility is used by chemists and biologists from both academia and industry who aim to modulate biological systems or test the biological activity of certain molecules. Findings made in DK-OPENSCREEN are applicable for early drug development, diagnostics, and medical research.

Access to the facility and compound library is straightforward. The purpose here is to increase technological and scientific development and thereby Denmark's competitiveness within Life Science.

In addition to DTU, University of Copenhagen, Aalborg University, and Aarhus University also constitute DK-OPENSCREEN. The facility is supported financially by the universities in question as well as the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
