Professor Marcel A.J. Somers has been awarded the dual honour of both receiving a rarely bestowed medal and giving a commemorative lecture at the 26th Congress of Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering.

Professor and Section Head of Materials and Surface Engineering at DTU Mechanical Engineering, Marcel A.J. Somers, has been appointed the honour of Fellow of ASM (FASM). The appointment is and international recognition of him and his team for their contribution to research, innovation and teaching in Materials Science and Engineering.
