Senior Scientist Jesper Ahrenfeldt (JA) has 19 years of research experience focusing on thermal pyrolysis, gasification of biomass and end-uses of biomass producer gas/syngas. The research goal is to develop highly efficient technological solutions for optimal utilization of biomass resources. The research includes: optimisation of biomass gasification processes, fundamental understanding of tar formation and decomposition, low temperature gasification of residual biomass and waste and characterisationof producer gas properties. JA has extensive ongoing collaboration with industry (Dong Energy, Haldor Topsoe, Wattenfall, Weiss, TI, DGC) as well international universities and research institutions.  JA has been the project leader and project coordinator in a number of projects related tobiomass gasification including ForskEL, EFP, EUDP and EU projects.
