B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from The Technical University of Denmark.
1970-72
Ph.D. study. The work was supervised by Dr. Kjeld Rasmussen and Professor Flemming Woldbye at Chemistry Department A, The Technical University of Denmark, and examined by Professor, Dr. Christian Klixbull Jørgensen, Université de
Genève. The thesis: "Vibrational Spectroscopy of Ethylenediamine Compounds", 1972, was published in Danish. The main part of the results was published as 5 papers in English, in international journals.
1973
National service.
Positions and awards
1969-70
Practising scientist with The Danish Atomic Energy Commission, National Research Laboratory Risø. The work consisted mainly in powder metallurgy.
1974-75
Research Fellow at The Technical University of Denmark, working on a project: "Intra and Intermolecular Vibrations in Crystalline Compounds".
1975
Visiting scientist, Department of Chemistry, Univ. of Leicester, England (3 months).
1975-78
Senior research fellow at The Technical University of Denmark. Work on phase transitions in crystals.
1978-79
Research Fellowship from Danish Natural Science Foundation. Resonance Raman spectroscopy of molten salts.
1979
Visiting scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, Chemical Engineering Department, for 3 months payed by U.S. Department of Energy.
1980
Awarded the Ole Rømer price for the work on phase transitions.
