State-of-the-art laboratories for synthesis and analysis
The laboratories at DTU Chemistry are located in Buildings 206, 207 and 211 and constitute a central facility for both research and teaching. Their high-technology instruments and infrastructure place them on par with the world’s best-equipped university laboratories, enabling highly specialized and advanced research.
The teaching and research laboratories in Buildings 206 and 207 were renovated in 2024 and fully equipped with new fume hoods, piped gas systems and related infrastructure to optimize facilities for both chemical analysis and synthesis.
In Building 211, a ceiling height of more than six meters ensures optimal airflow around the fume hoods, and a modern and future-proof piped gas system supplies the laboratories with the gases required for research at DTU Chemistry.
All fume hoods are connected to a central vacuum and cooling system. The laboratories are used exclusively for internal purposes.
On the first floor of Building 211, the laboratories are primarily used for research in organic chemistry, while the teaching laboratories support both organic and inorganic chemistry. The building contains no meeting rooms or classrooms and is dedicated solely to teaching and research. Access therefore requires collaboration with one of the department’s research groups, and entry to the first-floor laboratories requires completed safety training.
