DTU has a strong tradition has a wide range of collaborations with academia and industry regarding strategic research collaborations, continuing education, student projects, conferences, etc. The interaction between the university and the business community enables theory to be put into practice and that research is based on real-world issues.

Industry collaborations

DTU Chemistry has a broad collaboration with industry.

In 2023, DTU Chemistry had 9 signed collaborative research projects with public and private companies. The interaction between the university and the business community enables theory to be put into practice and that research is based on real-world issues. We also had 32 ongoing innovative projects with commercialization potential. The projects focus on green transition, life science, and materials science and development.

Academic collaborations

As part of our ambition to extend international collaboration, we have succeeded in getting PhD Alliance Scholarships with leading technical universities in Europe. The Nordic Five Tech is a strategic alliance of the five leading technical universities in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The alliance was established in November 2006 with the goal of utilizing the shared and complementary strengths and creating synergies within education, research and innovation.

In addition, we collaborate with numerous academic partners and facilitates across the globe.

Project days

The Department hosts two Industry Project Days every year where Industrial partners can present potential projects to BSc, BEng, and MSc students from DTU Chemistry.
