New results with Graphene Sandwich Flavored with Quantum Dots

New results published in Scientific Reports

Quantum dots (QDs) and graphene are both promising materials for the development of new-generation solar cells and optoelectronic devices. To this end synergic assembly of these two types of building blocks is a key step but remains a challenge.

In collaboration with Lund University,
associate professor Qijin Chi and former PhD student Nan Zhu in NanoChemistry Group at DTU Chemistry have demonstrated a one-step strategy for organizing QDs in a graphene matrix.

This has led to the formation of multiply sandwiched hybrid QD-graphene nanofilms which show ultrafast electron transfer and remarkable enhancement effect of photocurrent generation.

The new findings are published in Scientific Reports, one of the Nature family journals.
